How to Get into Graduate School- Everything you need to decide if graduate school is for you, improve your credentials for admission to graduate school, locate and evaluate graduate programs, prepare your graduate school application and graduate admissions essays, ask for letters of recommendation, and prepare for graduate admissions interviews -- all the essential information to get you into the graduate school of your choice.

Seven Tips for Preparing a Successful Application to Graduate School in Psychology - am continually surprised by the number of undergraduates with whom I talk each year who believe that getting into graduate school in psychology is just like getting into undergraduate school. One day you want to go to graduate school, you send away for application forms, fill them out, mail them away with a check, and voila--you're in! Unfortunately, getting into graduate school is not that easy.

What tests do I need to get into graduate school? - Most schools require that you take at least one standardized test before they will decide on your application.

Preparing to Graduate - Graduation requirements for the Master's degree vary from program to program in the University of Colorado at Denver. For example, some programs require only the successful completion of coursework, while others require the preparation and successful defense of a thesis or dissertation.

Preparation for Graduate Study - Students who might be interested in pursuing graduate study in psychology should meet with a faculty member as soon as possible after their arrival at Rutgers to plan their course of study. Students who wish to specialize in particular areas of study should discuss their plans with faculty members whose expertise is most appropriate for those areas, as indicated by faculty teaching and research interests (see list of department faculty).

Advice for Undergraduates Considering Graduate School-This article contains informal advice for undergraduates who are thinking about graduate school. Graduate school comes in three varieties: professional schools (law, medicine, education, and so on), master's programs, and doctoral programs. I know little about either professional schools or master's programs, so I will concentrate on doctoral programs. In particular, I will use the term "graduate school" to refer to doctoral programs. Please note, too, that I originally wrote this document for students in my own field and department. Things might work differently where you are, particularly if you are not currently in college, or if the faculty in your college do not do much research in the area that most interests you. As with all advice, only trust these notes to the extent they correspond to your own experience.

Preparing for Graduate School - Many Biology majors and minors plan on entering graduate school to obtain their Masters or Ph.D. There are a wide variety of programs that serve many different interests. The information on this page is intended primarily for students who plan to enter either industry or academics after obtaining their graduate degree.

How does one prepare for graduate school? - Of course it's important to get the most out of your undergraduate training. This includes: working hard in all your classes, doing readings beyond those required (simply because you're interested!), taking "extra" classes in philosophy (beyond what's required for the major), and becoming very good at philosophical writing.
